Shop Tools / Saw Blades
« on: July 30, 2012, 08:01:53 pm »
Need some guidance on saw blades.  I have a craftsman circular saw and the blade that came with it.  Probably a 24 tooth blade.  I am looking to get a better blade soon.  I plan on mostly working with pine and cypress for now and I will also use it to rip plywood.  What would be a decent blade or blades to get at an affordable price.  Not wanting to spend more than 30-40 bucks total.

Finishing / Finishing a Pine Table
« on: July 23, 2012, 04:47:52 pm »
Hey,

Thought I would post a question about the finishing on a pine table.  I am wrapping up the sanding and am now contemplating how to finish it.  I think I want to keep it as simple as possible, as its a farmhouse type table.  Thought about just stain and a paste finishing wax.  I have never done any finsishing before and would like advice on any techniques or pros and cons on this type of finishing.  Thanks in advance.

Hello,

My name is Layne and i'm new to the forum, and to woodworking.  I am interested in building furniture, have wanted to build a farmhouse type dining table for a long time but, always thought I couldn't do it.  I stumbled upon ana-white.com on the net and found a table to build.  Decided to make a coffee table first to get my feet wet a little.  Anyways, found this site through watching you-tube videos and decided I'd join.
