Pens are a good seller, if you have access to a lathe. Also scroll saw crafts sell well at farmers markets etc. And then there are Jewelry boxes and signs...

No I haven't built anything with it as of yet. As a matter of fact, I had planned on checking the moisture content of it Tuesday. It has been raining a lot so I wouldn't get an accurate reading however it has been hot and sunny this last week and weekend. So its a good time for me to check it. I am looking forward to building with it as soon as it is ready. If you haven't already, be sure to check out my two videos about the pecan. here is the link.

Well given the limited budget and your desire to keep things simple.. Take a look at this video from the Wood Whisperer.  its a simple Poly finish that can be wiped on.

Layne do you have spray equipment? I like a simple sprayed Lacquer finish stain to your choice of color if desired, followed by a lacquer finish. I put this question out to the viewers. Let's see what other types of finishing suggestions you get.
