I find my inspiration for my mugs on tv, movies, internet and mostly from my family that sends me pics of mugs that they have seen.  As for the rest of my work it has come from every where.

Projects / Aspen Cookie Jar
« on: December 24, 2011, 09:37:53 pm »
This Cookie jar is made from Aspen and finished outside with danish oil and a food safe epoxy on the inside.
The little bird on top us just set on there and I liked it so much that I drilled a hole in the bottom and set it on a dowel and then epoxied it to the lid to be used as a handle.
The jar is about 15" tall (including the bird) and 7 3/4" in diameter

I made these for my Sister the Tree Hugger so I wanted to make sure she knew that all my work comes from recycled, reclaimed or saved from the land fill and is Forest Safe.

Projects / Stem-less Wine Goblets
« on: December 24, 2011, 09:28:23 pm »
The Stem-less Wine Goblets are made from Mesquite from a cattle ranch just outside Wichita Falls, Texas. The wood came from the same branch of the tree. (No live trees are harmed in the making of any of my work)
I turn them on the lathe in the shop attached to the house. The wine glasses are finished with acrylic on the outside and a 2 part epoxy on the inside. The epoxy is designed to coat the inside of Beer Vats and is approved by the FDA for Potable water.  The finish is applied while still on the lathe and allowed to dry, then I wet sand to the sheen that I want, and then I polish them. They will hold about 16 oz. each.
Each is unique into themselves, yet still part of the whole
