Oh Cedar My Cedar!
« on: December 11, 2011, 05:14:33 pm »
I got a call from a man who owns a cedar farm, one of his smaller trees had fallen and he asked if Id like to have it...Well....YEAH!! lol it wasnt to hard of a question to answer.. I took my trailer over to the farm, and a chainsaw.. had to cut the tree into two 12' sections to fit on the trailer...and i thought he said "Small Tree" ...lol...ended up taking the tree to my local mill, and here was the results. The last photo shows the cedar as it was being stickered and stack to dry.

You are a lucky man.  I saw your pecan video... I could only dream of having that much lumber

Yes Jeff, it has been a blessing to have this much lumber given the price it costs to buy it... But its not luck my friend. I have contacts with tree services that will deliver trees to me if they have some I might be interested in... Its something everyone should try. Here is a new load that still has to go to the mill..A mixture of Oak, Cedar, and Pecan...
